Utah Case Studies in Civil Dialogue

Case Study 3: The LGBTQ+ Advocate and the Mormon Mom

KSAM Method: Attitude Introduction

Our focus in these case studies is to learn about different examples of civil dialogue happening in Utah. Each case study will highlight one component of the KSAM Method: Knowledge, Skills, Attitude, and Motivation. This case study will highlight Attitude.

Watch the video to learn about attitude in good dialogue. This includes:

  1. Holding an attitude of openness or being curious. Being curious means we desire to learn and understand.
  2.  An open attitude is the first step toward courageous conversations and courageous collaborations.
  3. We must overcome defensiveness, which prevents productive conversations from happening.
